When Navy Captain Georg Von Trapp wrote to the monastery and asked the government to take care of her seven miserable children, Mary got the job. The captain’s wife is dead and often absent, keeping her house as strict as the ships she sails on. The children are unhappy and annoyed by the governments their father constantly employs and have managed to break them down one by one. Originally, when she arrived, she encountered the same hostility, but they will soon be attracted by her kindness, her understanding and her pleasure, which gives her all the joy she needs – including the captain. Eventually, they fall in love with Mary, even if Georg is already engaged to a baroness and Mary is still applying. The romance leads the two to doubt their decisions. Their personal conflicts change …
